“2 ORANGES ARE BETTER THAN 1”

The passing of Richard Serra inspired these latest pieces, as his death encouraged me to take some time to appreciate his art. I was particularly drawn to his 2013 sculpture “Inside Out”, as I love its nuanced color and smooth flowing lines.

”FEELING BLUE”

These pieces were influenced by Henri Matisse’s paper cutouts, as I wanted to draw inspiration from this particular era of his art. His blue cutouts have always been a favorite of mine, so I used them as the basis for this collection.

"LESS IS MORE”

This is a series of minimalist abstract expressionist paintings inspired by the almighty Joan Miro. One of my favorite elements of his art is the way he creates an inherent sense of balance amidst even his most unorthodox compositions.

I also appreciate Miro’s sense of whimsy and humorous titles, so I tried to incorporate those aspects as well.

”A SPRING BREEZE”

Spring has finally arrived, and the warmer weather has been very welcome to say the least. This series was inspired by the vision of a translucent piece of fabric being blown about by a gentle spring breeze, and the overall feeling of relief you experience when winter comes to a close.

”ARGENTINA LANDSCAPES”

A friend recently went to Argentina for vacation, and I was astounded by its beauty, as I admittedly was not very familiar with the area prior to their arrival. As a result, I ended up creating a couple new landscape pieces which you can now view via the link below.

”BON APPETIT!”

This series sort of formed itself, as I was experimenting with the idea of blending abstract expressionism with pasta noodles. I was pleasantly surprised by the results, and will definitely consider trying this with some other foods in the future.

MORE NEW PORTRAITS ADDED

I have been working recently on trying to find a happy medium between the elements of realism and abstract expressionism within my portraits.

I have also been creating some portraits of seniors, as I realized the world is actually composed of some pretty interesting people outside the golden 18-24 year old demographic 😂

”NIGHT LANDSCAPES”

The early nightfall of winter makes you get very accustomed to spending large amounts of time in the dark. I also love waking up at 3 A.M. to create during the dark and serenely silent hours of the early morning. As a result of this deep affection for darkness, I ended up creating a series of low light landscapes.
