JUNE 2, 2024 - Robert Smyres contacted my neighbor Steve Welch about me, as confirmed via the screenshot below of a text message from Steve.

JUNE 25, 2024 - Days after being released from jail, Robert Smyres attempted to contact my aunt Pat Storm via Facebook. She sent me proof of this attempted audio call via a screenshot of her Facebook inbox.

JUNE 26, 2024 - Robert Smyres contacted me directly via text message. I can confirm this contact via the screenshot below.


JUNE 29, 2024 - Robert Smyres attempted to contact me via my insurance company (Blue Cross and Blue Shield), knowing he has never been on this policy, as it is provided through my employment as a professor at ECU.

I can confirm the time of this call via my phone log, as well as the contents of the phone call via the following video recording.



CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: In addition to Criminal Mischief, I believe his following actions also violate this portion of the Order of Protection…

JUNE 01, 2024 - After being served papers for the Order of Protection, Robert Smyres proceeded to delete the outdoor cameras on our home security system, change the pin code and alter the angle of the cameras so they no longer recorded the targeted area.

The pin code controls the lock to the front door of the house, thus rendering the lock on my door useless until a technician could arrive (which was not until June 24, 2024).

I can confirm these actions via this email from Vivint Home Security.

Robert Smyres was the only person at the house at this time, as police records and security footage will show this day is when he was officially served the Order of Protection.

I was staying at a shelter for women at the time to avoid contact with Robert, and the residents of this shelter can confirm my whereabouts.


JULY 9, 2024 - Robert Smyres failed to advise the Court of his change of address to Sulphur, Oklahoma in Murray County. This change can be confirmed via a Nextdoor email confirmation.

PERSONAL RECOGNIZANCE: This change of address violates the terms of his Personal Recognizance, as highlighted below…



FLORIDA WARRANT: All the acts outlined thus far also violate the terms of his probation, as there is currently a warrant for his arrest in Escambia County for failing to report to his Probation Officer (John Kerfoot).

PLEASE HELP: The reason I have gathered these documents is because I feel Robert Smyres continues to show no regard for the law, my Order of Protection, or safety in general. I ask officers of the law to please help my 3 year old daughter and me hold Robert accountable for his actions.
